Yes, I swapped in my TD4e that I only owned for three months for this one new at Lookers Park Royal, very pleased and obviously want to help keep it in good nick, hence the trial of this 2SO.

But I'm also waiting for the release of pre-registered MY13's in April/May at the dealers, never satisfied sometimes Laughing

Found this at Asda yesterday - nice round fiver a bottle. Pretty sure my 1.5 dCi has no DPF as the manual says nothing about one and there is no light on the dash for one:

Greetings
I have put five tanks full of 2 stroke mixed diesel through my 2009, 24,000 mls. FL2 and have not noticed any difference.
On the other hand 3 tanks full through my 2001, 55,000 mls, TD5 has had a noticeable effect. The engine was getting somewhat lumpy when pulling at low rev's. I was begining to think a problem engine wise. I have only run it on cheap diesel and still do. The engine is now as smooth as I can remember and pulls with out lumps at low rev's. I can only think it has cleaned the fuel system and injectors.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but the new Ultra low sulpher diesel has a max of 10ppm sulpher but up to 5% FAME (Fatty acid Methol Esters) or to the general public 'Biodiesel'. In the UK it is questionable whether there will be more than 3%. However one advantage is the bio diesel is a very good lubricant and should more that offset the lack of sulpher.
One more point any oil at a ratio of 1:200 is so diluted no harm can come. in the 70's audi recommended up to 15% of petrol in the winter to stop waxing. Also don't be to hung up on how clean the fuel you get at the pumps actually is!. By its very nature diesel or more accuratly gas oil contains water. you only have to see how much is drained out of storage tanks. Also the pipes and tankers used in the supply chain transport all sorts of fuel. from petrol to jet fuel. Years ago working on refined oil prduct tankers all around the world the tanks between cargoes were cleaned out with sea water. Manuafactures claim the fuel must be of exacting standards but in practice you are never going to get it .
As for the problem with VOSA? two stroke oil is intended for road use so should be legal and any taxes paid

I have read from the beginning this topic and given that there were negative effects on the engine I put myself semi-synthetic 2T oil in my car at work. VW Caddy 2.0 SDI 252.000 km. I had no car trouble before, but now I can say it works much smoother, easier climb in revs and the engine pulls better. I only 500 km made with 2T and so far I am very pleased

It says JASO FB on the label?! It's the same price as the Asda stuff though. On a seperate note, I filled up with no 2SO today. I fill up when the warning light goes on so effectivley increasing the concentration of 2SO over time as the reserve will always have oil from the previous fill up in it still.

bmw x3 idle over 3000rpm in 3rd gear

My brother-in-law has a BMW 3.0d auto and had the same issues as you. The problems were cured by removing and cleaning the EGR and all is now well. The EGR was caked with muck and not shutting properly but this did not cause any fault codes to come up. Adding TSO will not cure a gummed up EGR but it will help to stop it getting gummed up again.

message to JST and alex pescaru.

I finally found the solution to my BMW X3. It had nothing to do with diesel quality or engine. had the transfer box oil changed and no more problems, runs perfectly smooth. Repair cost 65 euro! ( amazing that bmw sayd that their gearbox and transfer box oils do not need to be changed at cars life.....)

Ah wizking, my verdict Neutral at the moment the jury is still out.

I'm on my second tankful now and soon to go on the third, I 'think' it is smoother in its operation and the 'diesel clatter' has been reduced slightly when cold and at normal running temperature, as for MPG I'm not really interested so haven't checked it.

I really don't know if there is an improvement or whether it is the 'placebo' effect, but the cleaning qualities has been proved so I will continue.

I personally cannot see the harm in this and even if its only for cleaner combustion it has to be worthwhile.

It would only be worthwhile if your keeping the car for hundreds of thousands of miles, during a cars normal lifetime it is of little use, it's a marketing dream.
