Wiper parking

I either read it on here or I'm going doo-lalley as I can't find it, but

I thought I read where there is a 'mode' for parking the front windscreen wipers to make it easier for changing, am I right or did I dream it Confused

Quote:
Setting the wipers to the service position

1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Within three seconds of switching off the
ignition pull the wiper stalk down to the
single wipe position. Hold the stalk in this
position briefly, and release it.

It's in the manual, but not exactly obvious!

I know thats what I have to do on my Golf - switch off ignition and flick wiper switch down within 5 seconds or something. I bet it's the same for the FL.

In the version I have it's in the 'wipers and washers' section, second to last page (91) in a subsection headed 'Setting the wipers to the service position'. But I believe there are different versions out there, so it may not be the same in yours.

Strange, I eventually found it in the MY09 manual but for some mysterious reason its omitted from the MY11 Confused
As long as it still does it in later cars, never mind eh Smile but I do wonder who 'proof reads' these car manuals Confused

The version I was using is an 09 pdf downloaded from the LR site last year, which fits with what you say.

I tried it on my MY2011 and it worked Thumbs Up they parked vertically.
Did you hold the stalk down long enough for them to begin moving, there is a short delay.

2013 MY has a winter wiper park function which can be set using the new for 2013 information screen between the rev counter and speedometer using the right hand buttons on the steering wheel.
