7" Chinese Satnav anyone?

Hi all,

eBay is awash with 7" satnavs from China which are basically WinCE 6.0 based tablets with (usually) IGO navigation software pre-loaded. They're very cheap and, I think, about the right size to fit the dash cubby.

The comments and reviews I've found on the web (often from Australian sites interestingly) are generally positive. I'm tempted to get one and have a bash at fitting it into my car. Has anyone else had a go at one of these?

You could also consider an Android tablet. See the following thread for one example installation:

Potentially more useful than something based on WinCE, and with a much better selection of available satnav apps?

Yes, the Android option is interesting but the WinCE job has its appeal...

1. I'm only really interested in sat nav and all the big ones are still available for WinCE if you look in the right places

2. I think I'd find an Android tab too useful elsewhere to 'trap' in the dash of my car!

3. It's very cheap!!! It's about a third the price of the cheapest Android tablet so I'd be much happier hacking it about.

Hmm. For the sake of 40 quid I might just get one and experiment with it. Smile
