United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Firenze Red

Very tempted but will wait until the manufacturer's warranty expires. Out of interest, to some, 25 litre drums of FC are on that UK auction site (that should not be mentioned) at what seems a very reasonable price. Keep posting with your findings. One of the best strings on the site. Thanks. Firenze Red XS TD4 01/2013 . Averaging 1800 miles per month. My 5th Freelander in 11 years. Devotee?

"that UK auction site"? Of course you can mention it: there is even a section for "ebay & other bargain spots" under Marketplace! Thumbs Up
I don't think you should worry about the warranty for use of 2so. It is unlikely to invalidate it and can only do good - it's made to be combusted! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

In addition of DiscoGeorge's message from here about glow plugs used in engines "doped" with 2SO, I will like to present you another picture.
It is courtesy of Catalin (cata26bcn) and was taken today during changing his car's glow plugs.
The engine has done more than 100,000 km, without any drop of 2SO. Check how clean they are, just like the ones in DG picture...
My conclusion is that if the engine is in good condition, all ancillaries are working as they are supposed to do and the fuel is of good quality, the need of 2SO is questionable.

I don't believe it is a problem for any diesel.

hello everybody.
I have been reading this topic quite a while now.
I´m from belgium and not a real landy owner. Although i drive a RR 2010 3,6 autobiography at work.

In my own car a vauxhall 1.9 cdti i have been using the liquimoly 2stroke for 20.000 kms.
At work they have bought 2stroke in bulk. But i don´t find any spec on the container for the jaso.
It only says: belco 2stroke 6040-C/CEC TSC-3
It is usable for my car with dpf or not.
Google says only that the TSC spec is for usa?

thnx in advance

Right, I'm on my third tank with 2SO in my '09 Micra diesel. Everything's running perfectly and in the last few miles I've noticed the engine is performing better than it ever has. Any hesitancy has gone and it goes like a stabbed rat. I think something in the engine, probably the turbo turbine, has definitely benefited from the cleaning action of the additives in the 2SO. I'm definitely going to continue although I definitely need to find some cheaper 2SO than the shell stuff that was all I could find Laughing .

As for the above, I've just had a quick Google and it looks like TSC-3 is a basic mineral based oil and doesn't meet Jaso FC standard so I wouldn't use it with a DPF Sad .

I bought 2 * 1L of Castrol Act Evo 2SO and added 200mL at each fill up (over the past 3 months) and, since then:

...I *think* that the engine runs a little quieter Question
...I haven't recorded any improvement in fuel economy Sad
...the performance is *perhaps* a little livelier (but as a 190bhp SD4 it's pretty darned good anyway) Very Happy

Certainly no dramatic improvement (but the car is only 2 yrs old...) so I'm on the fence. Neutral

So I'd be interested in any reports of problems that might have arisen from addition of 2SO over an extended (>2yrs) period. I'm thinking of early failure of components that might get picked up in regular servicing, problem repairs or at MOT...

Any experiences to share? ...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...

i´m always reading that the cars with SO2 always have lower emission on the MOT.

Post up on here if anyone knows of a cheap retailer for JASO FC please Thumbs Up I'd settle for a 'fiver' a litre including P&P, or a national outlet that I could pick it up.
I have searched and seen most but there may be offers that I've missed
