My brother-in-law has a BMW 3.0d auto and had the same issues as you. The problems were cured by removing and cleaning the EGR and all is now well. The EGR was caked with muck and not shutting properly but this did not cause any fault codes to come up. Adding TSO will not cure a gummed up EGR but it will help to stop it getting gummed up again. Check the turbo and it's variable/moving vanes. Also the vacuum lines to turbo, if it's vacuum actuated. |
