always been difficult to plan a trip to scotland for wintersports, its either lack of snow or bad winds that puts the spanner in the works

have you looked into driving to france, plenty of snow, just more money in the kitty for fuel and ferrys Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It did cross my mind Nick, we're having a look at where would be realistic at the moment to go to. Any recommendations?? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

A couple of weeks? We'll have had snow, hail, fog and tropical storms by then! Rolling with laughter

Seriously the forecast for the next week or so is for colder weather with a fair chance of snow on the hills.

I would suggest somewhere like Morzine, last thing you want is to get caught driving too far into the mountains, I did Morzine before and it's easy driving all the way

We set off leeds very early hours, got a 7am/8am ferry from dover, Calais down the motorways to Cluses and up in to Morzine, and were at our chalet by 5pm/6pm, relaxing night on a few beers then 3 full days of snowboarding, then a first thing after breakfast set off home for a 5pm ferry home, and drive back up to leeds

Or keep on heading past Cluses to Chamonix Thumbs Up

Even quicker if you can get a good Chunnel crossing too Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Paul!,

Yeah same here, we got that massive low pressure that you guys sent here, pulled up loads of nice warm air from spain and two days before christmas, we got loads of rain... and I mean loads... everything here is just brown right now : ( They are saying it should dip below freezing and give us snow for the weekend though!.. Perhaps I will finally get to camp out in the snow this winter?

Big Dave, is that awesome rope tree climbing thing still at the carpark? Last time I was up there riding it looked awesome, but I didnt have the time to try it out : (

I assume you mean me? Yeah, the tree/rope thing is still there, but closed for the winter.

I know the assistant manager who owes me a free go on it if anyone wants to collect on my behalf? Very Happy

While we're at it, this is the page for the snow reports:
