Newbie

Just a quick hello everybody. Nice to find a forum for freelanders . This is my second freelander I had a freelander1 td4 ES trouble free for 4 years. Had to move to a Citroen for a year as wife had cancer in spine and struggled to get in and out or freelander. But now back in to the freelander. This one is a 07 HSE td4 high miler but that should be nothing these days. I also have a series 2a of 1969 vintage

Thanks for you all for very promising looking forum!

I have decided to expand my very narrow thoughts about good car manufacturers. Earlier I had four VW's in my family. Obviously I got some criticism about this. Seven years ago I expanded my portofolio with one MB and one BMW. Two weeks ago we get some snow here in south west Finland (about 15 cm) and my memories went back to the days when I had MB G300 with rear and front full locks.
I started to think about best balance between fuel consumption and off-road capability. Most of the driving would be on roads and streets but occasionally it should be able for rough road.
I pointed out one nice looking FL2 2.2 HSE A 2007 and reserved it for me. Then I prepared some additional material: Workshop manual in pdf format and a diagnostic tester for FL2 from www.eobd2.com

Now I have been waiting my FL2 from car dealer for two weeks. The car dealer claims that there are some difficult unresolved problem in fuel system. The local LR service has been intensively hunting the fault.

I do have positive attitude for this new exiting phase of life and can't wait to see my new companion

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

Hi All,
Just bought a '61 reg FL2 HSE with the SD4 engine.
Its an ex-LandRover car with 14k on the clock in Indus Silver.
Replacing a much loved but decidedly thirsty Saab estate.
Seems to have all the toys except Xenon lights which is a shame but I'll try some high power bulbs and see if that improves things.
Looks like a really good forum and I look forward to picking up all sorts of tips and tricks...
Cheers

Russ

I had a 2008 Audi A4 Avant before I changed to the Freelander in July. The only thing I miss is 50mpg!

Good luck with yours. Smile

Hi all

Hi from another newbie.

I have been lurking around this forum for a while now and am realy impressed with the amount of info available even more so since I picked up my first LR yesterday , I am now the proud owner of an 08 manual freelander HSE with the HST kit from what I can tell it has everything but the HID lights now time to start pimping it up.

Falkland Islands 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue
Hello from Falkland Islands/Chile!

Hi All!

I'm a FL1 owner since '99. Currently with an '04 TD4 HSE living in the Falkland Islands. Spend a lot of time in Temuco Chile.

Looking to buy a Freelander 2 in the near future and found this wonderful site. Thanks so much for everyones input, questions and answers.

My slight worry is lack of LR support in Temuco, so need to look into buying one with warranty until I learn about it then go down the DIY route. Something like that anyway.

Mostly petrol autos here in Chile. I'd prefer a TD4 but perhaps the naturally aspirated i6 has something going for it in a remote location. Just throw more gas at it and enjoy. The newer models are out of reach.

By reading this forum I'm better informed to make a decision on what to look out for. I'm a bit concerned about a few transmission issues, but looking around here at the masses of other new 4X4's there's nothing to touch the Freelander 2 for looks! I'll take the risk.

Really looking forward to my trip up to Santiago next week for some scouting and perhaps drive one back South.

Cheers.
