United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

Thanks for all the opinions, good and bad!

What is interesting are the comments about bigger arch gap and the tyres being too small etc. It does cause an optical illusion because the gap from the top of the wheel arch to the top of the tyre is just 2.5mm bigger than it was with the 19's.

It just gives the illusion of the arch being more empty. What I would say though, is that in the metal the tyres look more chunky than in the photos. I do agree that the Michelin tyres do look a little smooth.

Next time round, I will fit the Continentals as the edge of the side wall is more square rather than the more round edge of the Michelins. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Slightly worried that you have taken the day off work to clean the inside of your car!
Do you make the wife take her shoes before she gets in?

Like the alloys but agree that tyres look too skinny. Each to his own and all that though. Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

It's always nice when work ring and say " you realise you have 5 days holiday to take before Christmas"

So yesterday was spent cleaning the car, and watching Back to the Future on Blu Ray in 5.1 surround with no wife and daughter around.

Then off to Starbucks for a coffee and read the paper!

But she has a pair of slippers to put on when she gets in the car! (Joke of course). But I do have three sets of carpet mats which alternate to keep things clean! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. I love the look of the 20's. So much so, there is a set of alloys just the same sitting in my spare room waiting to go on come the end of the winter.

But I still have to get tyres.

As you've got the 245/45 tyres on at the moment, can you tell me how much space there is between the sidewall and the strut on the front and rear ? Just so I can guage whether 255/45 ( which matches stock size 17's ) or even 265/45 may fit.

Just have to be very careful of the kerbs.
You can tell where my sister lives with her FL2, just look for the silver line on the kerb outside Shocked

There is loads of room as the wheel itself has an offset of ET45 instead of ET 54 on the 19's.

What is the standard 17" tyre size? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
