The old plug wires are coloured wires, but the new light and wiring is all black. I noticed the auto electrian got a electric surply from the boot light and checked each wire then check the coloured wires, then match them up. There's six wires on the old and new plug. How To Change The Rear Lights.

Anyone thinking of changing the rear lights to the later LED Type MY13, can now see what is entailed.

Hi mate
I have just brought the late 2012 LR2 and it's the new style dash and LED daytime running lights. A bit disappointed it doesn't have the signature headlights, but I'm looking to buy some
I saw your thread regarding the 6 pin plug headlights, and wondered, as mine is the late 2012 and 2013 model, would I need to change the plugs, or would the 2013 lights go straight in? As it's the new style LR2, I already have the LED rear lights, so I'm hoping the signature style front lights won't require and mods if I buy them

Appreciate any advice you can give

Thanks[/b]

Rear lights
As well as ad's link above, this one shows a simple change out without an upgrade

They were both done by the same company I think - www.powerfulUK.com
The site is quite good, they show quite a few 'how-to' videos.

I have a problem identifying what part I will need to replace my rear right hand cluster.
My missus backed into a skip Neutral . She is emphatic about it only being a few little broken bits and a small scratch.

In the videos mentioned, and other sites images of replacements, the cluster is red all around. Mine has roughly a half inch border in black. Are they colour coded I ask?

I will try and upload a few images in another post Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS

I couldn't get photos posted.
To try and answer my own question of 'are they colour coded' - I looked at Freelander photos posted by other members.
Some rear clusters are all red on none red bodies; some look colour coded to match the body.

But I should have started with Dan the man at Duckworths.
Because with my vin number he sorted everything for me in no time. Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS
