CO2 Offsetting and car tax

Hi Guys Very Happy

When i bought my Freelander the dealer told me that the Goverment was going to be introducing a lower tax band for cars who have had their CO2 Offset, so far to date i cannot find any info on this.

Has anyone else been told this?

Also has anyone found any info on this?

Cheers

I have not heard this but you would think there would be some reward for offsetting.

I cant see that paying £85 to fund a windmill in China is going to stop the govt taxing us just the same as everyone else

We are paying tax on the CO2 offset payment. VAT is charged against this payment which seems a bit much seeing its supposed to be a voluntary payment.
