In Canada it's 6mo/12K km. (But we get 4yrs complimentary maintenance, though). I believe from other conversations, 6mo/12 is the standard. For the first service, you usually want to get that done sooner rather than later. The oil is quite dirty from the engine break in. The price doesn't seem too far out of line (for a LR) AUD600 = £275. Check out this thread http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic1072.html |

It may be different for petrol vs diesel. US is also 12000 km/6mo interval (for the petrol). Maybe climate has something to do with it too. But the diesels seem to have a longer time between service. Maybe LR Australia doesn't realize they sell diesel LR2s |

It's all to do with all that lovely hot weather that you guys in the Colonies have. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

This is my first Landrover. I am a bit surprise on how high maintenance it required.

When I bought mine the dealer told me that the first service should be at 12 month or 24000 Km, but that they recomend a service also at 12000 Km (not tied to 6 month). I assumed that this was because in Romania we have bad roads. The booklet that came with the car also states 24000 Km or one year.

I 've got my car since may 2007 and in the booklet I read that service was required every 24.000km or 12 months.

Johan, I have not heard that. I have just received a letter from my dealer stating that my first service is due by the 30th of April. I will have had the car exactly 1 year on that date. A service every 6 months seems to be a money making game for Land Rover in our type of climate. waaxh03 |
