The bonnet alarm switch has been know to cause this issues. I had the same exact situation going on as you did.

thanks alot 4por4. i've just seen ur post and would like to give it a try. and i'm wondering why sometimes there is a notification on the dashboard that my bonnet is open. does it related to the anti theft switch?

Try a Hard Reset, disconnect both leads from the battery, touch them together, go have a cup of tea, connect the battery again, this worked for me on my first Freely. |

i've tried to open the anti theft sensor and instead of changing it, i try to pull the metal so it shape better. i think i'll give it a few days trial. and if the alarm still trigered, i would try the hard reset, and if it doesn't work, i might order the sensor. :)

Same thing here, alarm was going without any reason. The diagnostic said 'hood opened'. So today I had the sensor replaced. |

A night time butterfly. Sometimes come out of your wallet if you dont open it very often too. |

Had same with mine - happened a couple of times which I put down to gremlins but then had a day when it happened a couple of times culminating in the imobiliser engaging and had to be recovered. Not sure what the cause was but had a new alarm unit fitted under warranty.
