The bonnet alarm switch has been know to cause this issues. I had the same exact situation going on as you did.
Look at my posts, i did a picture tutorial on how to replace it. Very easy to do. Cuatro Por Cuatro

That is exactly why you are getting that warning.
It's a cheap easy fix. Good luck. Cuatro Por Cuatro

Try a Hard Reset, disconnect both leads from the battery, touch them together, go have a cup of tea, connect the battery again, this worked for me on my first Freely.

i've tried to open the anti theft sensor and instead of changing it, i try to pull the metal so it shape better. i think i'll give it a few days trial. and if the alarm still trigered, i would try the hard reset, and if it doesn't work, i might order the sensor. :)

anyway thanks 4por4 and ad210358

@Mona Geeza : what is "moth"?

Same thing here, alarm was going without any reason. The diagnostic said 'hood opened'. So today I had the sensor replaced.

Had same with mine - happened a couple of times which I put down to gremlins but then had a day when it happened a couple of times culminating in the imobiliser engaging and had to be recovered. Not sure what the cause was but had a new alarm unit fitted under warranty.

On another note does anyone have a workshop manual for the FL2 - No Haynes one published yet...
