In fairness this is poor towing as they hook it up to the tow bar instead of the eye and don't use a proper tow rope. Even so, an FL2 on winter tyres would do better!

Would have done better in GGS mode, by the amount of wheelspin it wasn't in GGS. |

I'll drink to that SYFL2. Kal-El recently posted that he purchased the same winter tyres that I got (Avon Ranger Ice) and although last winter was mostly mild and boring, I am hoping these scientists are onto something with this arctic ice melt causing bad winters here. Broke all records as per my other post. Hey Kal, use google street view on Old Hill, Ashbourne. I went up there last Feb on peak 4x4 duty and it was thick snow and it never put a foot wrong. Very steep as you can see and the street view cam doesn't do it justice LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

All he needed was the proper tyres and he would have no problem ______________________

Agreed. Never had any problem on wranglers but in situations like this, the winter tyres I have would be in a different league. I have noticed that on a couple of occasions when sudden-ish braking was called upon in snow (due to some plank sliding out of a side turning into my path), the winters pulled the car up smartly even though the mandatory ABS juddering came into play. This highlights the problems of driving in snow. You can have the right car and the right tyres but you tend to be surrounded by people who don't! 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Santorini Black with privacy glass. |
