Update on this: I took off some of the extra parcel tape I had put on the back - specifically over the speaker holes , and it's now louder. Also took out the foam piece under the "speaker plate" before I put the dash back. It's now just about loud enough to hear, though still on full volume. Looks like it's no longer possible to remove the back of the unit. I think I came across an out-of-date user manual there.

I agree, it is a little quiet, although I must admit to turning the sound way down anyway as I prefer just the visual reference, it works very well though, lovely clear screen and with the OS map colours loaded it looks good too. |

Taz, can you give me a link to the OS style? I couldn't find it on the site you linked to earlier.

That's a shame, I am there Wednesday night and Thursday morning then fly off to Warsaw, try again next time, enjoy the Netherlands and be careful with the cakes |

Harvey, it is quite straightforward, the hardest part for me was the centre speaker cover, it was very stiff, everything else from there was very straightforward. |

Harvey, the problem with a seven-inch is that the unit might not fit in the space available behind the gap. Screen might also be slightly obscured as the Start60 only has a small rim showing top and bottom.

Have decided to fit a couple of brackets behind TT , just in case when winter arrives and hot air from vents makes tape not as secure.
