United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Hello to all - nice to be here.

We're picking up our first FL2 this week, chosen for the specific task of towing our caravan. Very much looking forward to many years of trouble free ownership Very Happy (Will that be the Kiss of Death now ?)

Having looked at the owners manual on line, I have (at least) a couple of questions. I'll use the search function first though of course and if that brings no joy, I'll try to make sure I post in the correct section.

I've had the opportunity to have a look through some of the threads - already found some good stuff. It's also nice to see a forum that's very active.

2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi folks,

Only a few more sleeps to go before we pick up our SD4 HSE (11) this weekend Thumbs Up
The arrival of a little one has meant that our BMW 4 door saloon had to go as the boot just wasn't big enough once the pushchair was in.

The missus and I had spent a few weeks deciding on the colour combo and we're really happy with what we went with - stornoway grey, black leather and privacy glass. HSE and SD4 provided us with the features we really needed; auto (what we already had) , sunroof (good to see the giraffes at the safari park), full leather (wipe the baby milk off), front & back sensors (not so confident about our parking skills these days).

Probably went against the grain but I asked the dealer to take the 19" alloys off for me and put the standard 18" ones back on. I figured the tyres (winter and summer) would be cheaper and also the ride a bit softer but primarily though, I have a bit of OCD and one of the niggles with the 19's were that the spokes angled forwards on one side of the car but on the other side they angled backwards. It's sad i know, but i wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that.... Big Cry

Makes complete sense on all accounts. Well done for admitting it.

I used to line all shirts up by colour in short sleave and long sleave groups. But two kids has beat many OCD tendencies out of me Wink

Well, we have it, picked it up Saturday morning, over the moon so far !

Just need to get a service carried out and a new set of tyres and all set for the winter ! I am not saying it is your fault, I am simply saying that I am blaming you.

Australia 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi folks,

Just joined up and thought I would say hello .I am from Sydney, Australia and have picked up my FL2 TD4 SE Auto a couple of weeks ago and been enjoying every second of it.

Still need to get a few things for it such as Mudflaps, Seat covers and would like a Sat Nav Unit, but so far its been brilliant.

The only thing I have done to it so far is to fit the on-glass UHF aerial for my Icom IC41s handheld, and been slowly going over it cleaning a few things (im a bit anal lol and been cleaning the undercarriage) and generally geting used to how it all works.

Main reason for getting the FL2 was to allow me to get into a proprty i go to frequently and was (dare i say it) looking at a Suzuki Vitara, but then decided a bit of luxury was in order so looked at the FL2's and managed to pick one up and 09' model with 42000km on the clock and still under factory warranty. I extended the warranty for 3yrs/200000km but i doubt i will be needing that.

Is about to get looked over from nose to tail by a friend who was an ex-land rover tech so he will tell me if anyhthing needs fixing under warranty (as well as getting me filters etc at cost) and its future will be oil/filters every 5000km and then dealer services for all the major services.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

cheers
