United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Loire Blue

Replaced all of mine last autumn. Think it cost around 70 quid in parts. Easy enough to do. Just make sure you clean the arch out thoroughly before fitting the new ones, as its surprising how much crap gets caught behind them Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Just measured the length of the trims, and the front trim measures approx 30 inches, the rear are 19 & 20 inches respectively. So if like mine, the front has not swollen too much, you can cut one rear length out of the old front one.

I have just replaced all 6 wheel arch trims yesterday.

Front = LR001623
Rear = LR005165 + LR001624

Although after opening the package I was somewhat surprised and felt rather ripped off by LR (not the supplier in this case) as all sections were basically the same profile just different lengths.

Front was 76cm long

Rear were 49cm and 52 cm (respectively)

For some strange reason the 49cm rear trim is over 3x the price of the other two Confused Confused Confused Confused and it's the shortest of the three Question Question Question

My advice and what I would do next time is to order as follows:

Front = LR001623 x 2
Rear = LR001624 x 4

as there is more than enough room to fit the 52cm where the 49cm trim should go (and it would give a little more protection on the trim)

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Just my thoughts - but would reduce the cost by about £12 + VAT 2002 Honda VFR800

Excellent advice SimonT Smile

I have purchased

Front = LR001623 x 2
Rear = LR001624 x 4

and fitted them today (with two of LR001624 fitted to each rear wheel arch instead of LR005165 + LR001624
)...a considerable saving as part LR005165 is much more expensive than the other parts.

With a bit of discount from my helpful local dealer I managed to change these trims for less than £30 Smile

Good advice once again from an excellent forum

Just looked under the arch of a "62" plate Freelander, and the arch trims look like a moulded purpose made edge!.
Have LR realised the problem and had a custom trim made to do the job?. If so I wonder how musch they cost ?
