After 28,000 miles I am getting around 35mpg overall, lots of motorway miles in there.

On the motorway at 60-65 it will average over 40mpg on a run from Lancs to London, at 70 it will do 35mpg, at 80 -90 32 mpg.
The mpg seems to drop off a cliff if you go beyond 1800/1900 rpm, which is incidentally were peak torque occurs.

On a recent 4x4 day around Kielder it still managed over 30 for the round trip Thumbs Up

Are those mpg figures "real" i.e. brim to brim tankful figures or are they the LR "pie in the sky" OBD figures? Now: 2012 FL2 SD4 XS Orkney Grey
Previously: 2007 D3 TDV6 XS Tonga Green
Before that: 2003 FL1 TD4 "Kalahari" Black

Don't know about your readout but mine is usially accurate to 0.2mpg give or take - surely good enough for most uses.
Thats based on several tankfuls, brim to brim using the same pump at the same petrol station. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I think i average 33mpg overall which isn't too bad for something that is as aero dynamic as a house brick When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Mine is a TD4 auto and the actual mpg figures are very close to the readout. I.E. about 40mpg highway at about 72mph, 1800 rpm and about 37 mpg on a 3000km trip mixed highway and off road. (80% highway). 2007 FL2 TD4 SE Auto, Alaska White with Black Leather, Cooper A/T3 tyres.

Since changing job- longer runs on A&B roads Lloyd has gone from 36.6mpg to 43.3mpg! I'm delighted with this- especially due to the cost of fuel. He's just approaching 22K now

OBD fairly accurate, still getting about 35mpg. Am I the only one who uses more fuel in sixth gear than I do in fifth?

Big Hammer - interesting note about 6th gear. My previous L-R, a 56 Disco 3 did that too. Weird or what Question

My FL2 had me worried when I collected it new from the Stealer - 9mpg on the computer, and after 100 or so miles, 12mpg Sad Sad Sad Sad

Reset the comp and now averaging 35 for all sorts of driving. What if anything was wrong when it was just out of the box. And why didn't the Stealer reset it so it looked more respectable when I collected it Question .
.
....if you wait for it to go wrong , it's sure to oblige.

Now had the SD4 for 3 months and using the road trip app my average MPG is 35.57. This is over 2912 miles.
My old manual TD4 over a 10 months was 38.37MPG doing 10090 miles.
