2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

This car.....? Wink

Bought a few weeks ago from a specialist dealer nearby is south Notts. What can you tell me about it apart from the fact the parking sensors don't work? If it's the car mentioned in your signature I guess that's because it had a tow bar on it?

Yes, that's the baby.
Best car I ever owned. Two half years of happy mothering. No major issues at all.
Purchased, sight unseen December 2009 from landrover lewes for 14.5k ish
It did the first winter In The deep snow with 4mm Goodyear tyres, and was fine, it went everywhere.
I had lr lewes fit the roof rails, cost approx 450 all in.
I fitted rear entertainment system, and removed it when I sold the car to fit into my new freely.
I also updated the sat hav discs to 2009 or 2010 I think, I may have the rest of the discs for Europe if you want them.
Drop me a email and I will have a look. If I find them I will gladly post them to you.
Tow bar was only used for cycle carrier, and small trailer ( caddy 640t) when camping. No vans !!
In the 6 months before part exchanging it with sturgess Leicester, I had new winter tyres fitted, vredestein
Wintrac extremes, new rear discs, new rear pads and shoes, new wipers all around, all interior bulbs
We're upgraded to bright led versions, and the headlamp bulbs were also upgraded to brighter ones, Philips I think...
Does it still have the Wintrac tyres fitted, cannot tell from picture.?
When it left me the only things needing doing was the scuff down the edge of the drivers door needed painting, and the ns rear handbrake shoe Needed adjusting a little.
The rear sensors always worked, though the muppet at sturgess probably forgot to connect them back up, as when moving the towbar to my new car he forgot to connect any of the electrics, bloody idiot !.
I would suggest check the fuse, and the cable that feeds through from the bumper into the car is actually connected, it should
Be something silly like that.

Hopefully it will give you as little trouble as it gave me.

Enjoy.

The tyres are still on it, I must admit I didn't realise they were 'winter' tyres.

The drivers door is bugging me, it's booked in at a mates paint shop soon, it's already had a boot liner and dog guard fitted for our two Labradors I'm afraid! Wink

The front or rear sensors don't work at all, see thread on here (PARKING SENSORS), it's been diagnosed and one replaced but still no joy so is off to Land Rover Monday.

The mats have been removed also so I'm on the look out for a rubber mat set, it's the girlfriends car (and the dogs of course, keep them out my Alfa), and we want to get the rear windows tinted and some side steps fitted.

We're really pleased with it, we've been on the look out for a Tambora Flame HSE for a while with lowish miles, this was too good to miss for sale just up the road really. Cool

If the Genuine electrics for the Towbar was fitted the electrics would have been enabled, there fore when the electrics are removed it will need to be disabled again. I think if it is that you will get a long beep when selecting reverse, NP will know as I think he had the same problem on his previous Freely.

I thought you had trouble with your old one when you removed the bar?

Couple of other things, did you ever have an issue when changing from 4th to 5th and moving the gear stick slightly too far toward you that it sort of locks over and 5th or 6th can't be selected as it's too near reverse?

Also, why only one roof bar, is this something to do with the sunroof?
