Not bad compared to BMW who wanted £800 to fit a diff pinion oil seal, got a seal for £2 so it only cost £798 in the end! |

Try your local tow bar company, they are always cheaper than garages and they come come to you to fit it. |

With the Witter Detachable Towbar R41Q, you do not need to cut the rear bumper. |

Going through the same thing in the U.S. right now. Summer is upon us and I want to be able to tow my 19-foot boat. Stealership wants in upwards of $1,300 US for tow hitch install. I found an indy mechanic in New Jersey (a U.S. Land Rover hot bed) who will help me through my aftermarket install for $300 or so. There is NO need to get your rear bumper cut! all sounds abit steep to me guys should be paying no more than 400 with the tow bar at a local specialist or towsure! When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

I fitted a Witter removable flange type towbar and electrics from PF Jones this morning. Took about 4 hours. The instructions tell you to drill two holes after removing the LH bumper reflector to give access to the 2 13mm nuts behind it. In fact I found a ratchet ring spanner with articulated end (from Aldi) did the job without any drilling - just took time as you could only move the ratchet a few degrees at a time when reaching up behind the bumper. Fitting the electrics was a doddle - no trim had to be moved.
