England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey
low battery

As any one had this before, as I was sat in the car with the radio on ( with out the engine running )I went to increase the volume and the message low battery came on the radio screen.The radio was only on for about 15 mins,but there has been no problems starting or anything else any one know why?

Don't know why but- I've seen that message once, car off radio on. Probably not the right course of action but I did not charge the battary and all was well.

Just a thought, if it is the original battery at 4-5 years old then I would take it as a warning and replace it, it may well be the beginning of a failure.
The amplifier is fed via a 30 amp fuse so it does draw a bit of current that could be noticeable on a failing battery.
Of course if it is a newish battery, then I'm talking 'rubbish' Smile .

It is normal, dont worry about it, if you have the LR Sat Nav you have to have the engine running when doing the updates ideally as you get this message, most vehicles now have a system where you can listen to the radio with our the key being in the ignition, the radio will work for 15 to 20 minutes then turn off.
