At my 30k service I was quoted $600 (400 pounds) to have my rear brake pads replaced including labour. Does this sound normal?

I think the cost of the drive from Australia to the UK might make Halfords more expensive though ![]() 2002 Toyota Celica 140 Silver (mid life crisis - again!) 2007 FL2 GS Manual Army Reconnaissance Green + freel2.com sticker ![]() 2004 Toyota Celica 140 Black - Gone 2000 Toyota Celica 140 Silver - Gone 1998 Toyota Celica ST Pearl Green - Gone 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6 - Gone 1994 Rover Montego 1.6 Auto - Gone |

It's worth it just to see the look of sheer enjoyment, enthusiasm, and helpfulness on the eager faces of the Halfords employees though ![]() |

I did my rear discs, pads & handbrake shoes for less than £100 with new genuine parts found on eBay. It can be a bit fiddly if the handbrake adjusters are seized but it is relatively easy to do - a couple of hours at most. Cheers,

if doing it yourself you may need to purchase a tool to wind the rear calipers open in order to fit the new pads, not too expensive though |

Has anyone priced ceramic pads for these cars? I've grown a bit tired of washing the excess brake dust off on a weekly basis. CAR HISTORY
