Rear brakes replacement price?

At my 30k service I was quoted $600 (400 pounds) to have my rear brake pads replaced including labour. Does this sound normal?

I was also quoted $120 (80 pounds) to get front wipers replaced. Would it be better doing it myself?

80 quid to replace the wipers Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Halfords will do it for a fiver, or you can do it yourself in about two minutes.

I think the cost of the drive from Australia to the UK might make Halfords more expensive though Whistle 2002 Honda VFR800

I had the rear brakes replaced at 48K service (last week) and was quoted $554 (AUD) however when I collected the car they had charge me $437.74. Front brakes still 5mm.
Pads $94.60
Disc $211.14
Labour $132.00
FYI 48K Service original quote $920, then after challenging the price and selecting not to change the pollen filter as it was changed last service, quote= $745.
Actual cost when I collected the car including a loan Freelander was $455.34. Very Happy

It's worth it just to see the look of sheer enjoyment, enthusiasm, and helpfulness on the eager faces of the Halfords employees though Whistle

I did my rear discs, pads & handbrake shoes for less than £100 with new genuine parts found on eBay. It can be a bit fiddly if the handbrake adjusters are seized but it is relatively easy to do - a couple of hours at most. Cheers,

if doing it yourself you may need to purchase a tool to wind the rear calipers open in order to fit the new pads, not too expensive though Thumbs Up freelander 2 SE black and beige - now sold

Has anyone priced ceramic pads for these cars? I've grown a bit tired of washing the excess brake dust off on a weekly basis. CAR HISTORY
