Demo FR2 car

Right here I am. A new Land Rover Freelander 2 GS model 2.2 litre 190PS SD4 model owner.

A basic question. Don't know if anyone else in here took the risk I took. I have just purchase the FL2 as the specs mentioned above, BUT its a demo car with 15000 km's on the dashboard. There was a significant price drop on the deal so I took the risk.

From people I know owning an FL2 I understand that these cars are made to be "tortured" so i took the brave decision in getting this one

Do you think that this might affect my FL2's life. Any comments would be much appreciated.

thanks

P.S I will post photos of it sometime next week. Happy Landing 2 Smile)

Every one of us who has bought a second hand car has taken a similar "risk". You however have a nearly new car with a full LR warranty. It may have been a demo, but I doubt it would have been punished too much - unless, that is, it was driven up & down Trudos using the back roads every week! Enjoy it! Regarding being made to be "tortured" - the car was designed from the available parts bin (at the time) from Ford, Volvo and PSA. It is rugged, but not overly. It does seem to be the most reliable of the LR marque however.

I bought two FL2 demo cars now

First one had a few issues but it was a launch car, second one has been near perfect, made good savings on both against new costs, the warranty is there if you have issues

Good choice, don't worry Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

ive never bought a used car, Im not very trusting of others I guess, and I look at it like this, it wasnt good enough for the previous user anymore, they are getting rid, so why should I have their rubbish?
Of course if you cant afford a new one then you have not got much choice if you need to be mobile I can understand that argument too.
And if no one buys a new one then theres no secondhand ones for anyone that cant afford one to buy.

On the other hand, there is the argument that if there were problems with the car, the first owner will have got them sorted out for you beforehand and save you the trouble.

thank you big-al-cove

I have been driving the car for a week now and "cross fingers" its feels like new. This is a totally new expirience for me having a 4x4 and I love that. Mind you that the looks of the car is amazing and when looking at the previous models of FR2 you get the impression that the looks of this car never fade away. Happy Landing 2 Smile)
