So diesel has hit £1.43.9 but Morrisons diesel is still £1.39.9. I was swayed some time ago by members on here to use 'super diesel' (V-Power) for added benefits. The only snag is that V-Power is £1.53.9 So on paper it's tempting to ditch V-Power for Morrisons but that (apparently) would mean losing smooth running and improved economy. For now I am sticking with V-Power but vote and debate away as to your fuel choice and thoughts on the price hike. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I voted for the super diesel even though I use Total Excellium. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

I had been using Shell V-Power for quite a few fill-ups then changed to Shell FuelSave when the price went up and I have really noticed a difference in performance - it is sluggish and my MPG has definitely dropped - back to V-Power it is for me. 2002 Honda VFR800

I have only ever used supermarket fuel, but having owned a petrol mini cooper and a pick up truck that runs on just about anything I have never seen the point until now.

Nowt wrong with tesco's fuel. Never really noticed a difference between posh and blue & white stripe fuel. all out of the same refinery anyway. |

I use Shell diesel, luckily the local Shell garage is close to Sainsburys and matches their price. John

Ive used the Ultimate stuff, and maybe its just an illusion but the engine appears to pull better, I dont use it that often, just now and again when I cant be bothered to queue at the normal diesel pump and the Ultimate pump is vacant. Ive got a Mini too but mines a COOPER SD, never seen a COPPER S? is it a limited edition? |

One thing you have to remember when slagging off supemarket fuels is where does that fuel come from ? and when praising a brand say Shell or Texaco where does that fuel come from ?. Think about it - there are only about 5 major refiners in the UK and number of smaller ones. All the refineries will operate "swap outs" so that for example, The Shell refinery will supply BP tanker loads, and BP refinery will supply Shell etc, to minimise the cost of deliveries. All the refineries will supply wholesalers and some key accounts such as Supermarkets, so for example if BP were Sainsbury's supplier, an individual supermarket may in fact be supplied from any number of producers under the refinery "swap out". 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
