I bought a pair of AFS units a year ago and put some error cancellers (big capacitor!) inside them but have had a few issues with them so I'm going to put them on eBay and go back to the standard halogens.

I have just retrofitted a pair of standard Xenons to my 2008 FL 2, and they are working brilliantly with no problems whatsoever. You need to get a local dealer to code the vehicle to register it has Xenons, but once done, mine worked perfectly. The levelling system is still manual of course, but works fine. If there is a problem at MOT, then simply put back the halogen lamp units for the test - it takes less than 5 minutes to swap out both sides, so that is not an issue. This mod is really worthwhile, as the improvement is massive Freelander 2 HSE - Santorini Black, privacy glass, dog guard, cargo divider. |

so on the basis of reverting back to the halogen units for the MOT's do we know if we would have to re-program the car to tell it it no longer has xenons? Stands to reason you would which would mean paying LR or what ever to change it to halogen then back to xenon again, seems like a lot of faff every 12 months.
