I'd second the IronX, spray it on leave it for a couple of minutes then agitate with a good wheel brush. You should see the contamination turn a red/purple colour with in a few seconds.

Wolf chemicals Deironiser is great too, same as iron x, but you can let it dry on without worrying unlike iron x

now laugh you may but I use Cif Lemon oxy active ! about £2.00 a bottle & no idea whats in it but it cleans the inside of the wheel a treat & gets rid of the brake dust but it also cleans the calipers up as well ! I do also use hot water pressure washer as I have a hot outside tap & that really clears the grime. |
