Oh I think not, the purpose of this thread pales in significance compared to your ramblings. Rolling with laughter

I am not wrong. You are. The manual is far superior and would spill less than the SD4. I don't care why they don't offer manual on the Disco. Manual wins hands down. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

As opposed to your cold hard facts about the auto being best. Trust me I laugh at every auto argument just as much Rolling with laughter

Perhaps a moderator should lock this thread or follow what CG said and delete it LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Stealer put it well, people don't pay that much for a car and expect to change gear. No manuals on Disco, RR. Saying that, first auto have owned and do thinks its great. Also Landrover seem to be one of few manufactures were the auto box does not decrease the amount you can tow over the manual. I'll even guess at the freelander 3 not coming in manual! Its just a case of each to there own, more for comfort now then speed!

over the last few months the auto box owners have said how crap the clutch is at failing on manual versions to the auto i have noticed lately that there has been quite a few g/box problems and failures whith auto transmisions so wich is the best then Question Question manual box or auto

Perhaps it might be prudent to refer back to the original post which asked not about personal preference but about reliability differences between auto and manual versions.

Perhaps the poll could be edited to reflect the OP too

zzzz clutches fail, autos can self destruct, the world may end, it might not who knows. you pays your money and takes your choice

MY Fl2 clutch was fine over 33,000 miles and did get used in some extreme conditions, even up the top of a Northumbrian forest road that did burn the clutch of the Fl2 behind me.

But for me a new fl2 with auto is an expensive motor, So for similar money a used RRS came along. am I wrong? am I right? who knows/cares .

Its better than bringing the shopping home on a bus thats for sure

Then the OP should be more specific in what way "the best" means....
If you take the
Number of failed manuals/clutches over Total number of manuals
vs.
Number of failed autos over Total number of autos
then
I have a vague impression that the manual is much problematic than the auto...

Can I point out the poll was added by me, on Alex's request, could not see the point in opening another thread on the same subject
