Well, while ever someone creates yet another post about auto v manual and people come on here slagging off the manual and boasting about the auto, I will duly pounce and slag off the auto and boast about the manual.

That may have something to do with the storyline this Christmas which is called The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe.

Very convincing poll by the way (not). Totally pointless because the majority on here own autos so the poll is a foregone conclusion. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Are you saying the forum is not representative of freelander sales or are you saying that the majority of freelander sales are auto, and if so have you stopped to think why that might be so?

I wonder if the first gear boxes had ben automatic, would anyone have bothered inventing a manual box? I learnt to drive on 3 speed, non synchromesh first boxes and, as I remember, it was mastering the clutch that caused the problems, not so much moving the lever. Having said that though, 4 speed column mounted gear changers - oh dear! |

The only thing it shows is that the majority of people prefer to own an inferior auto. The only thing that is ridiculous is the auto. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

What we could do is place a saucer of water on the floor of The Doctors agriculteral manual and one of the SD4 owners to do the same and take a trip along a runway somewhere, we all know who would get to the end first and we know who would have spilt the most water, it would be pointless though as he still wouldn't see he is wrong
