Update: I found a new fob on eBay and went into my local LR dealership who programmed it for about £35 while they were doing a software update on my GS.

The part number you refer to is, I believe, the part number for a brand new unprogrammed fob. You cannot reprogramme a fob that had been used on another car, you can only reprogramme a fob that has been used on your car.

If your fob isn't behaving itself... then a replacement is the logical choice.

The key fob for my '08 GS appears to have stopped working - placed in the dock it allows me o start the vehicle. However, none of the lock/unlock functions will work - they were ok yesterday although the unlock function was a bit intermittent and sometimes required a couple of presses of the button.

They need the car and all keys you have. If you forget your spare key it will be disabled, but you can enable it later again. The problem it that every time they have to crank up the SDD- diag it cost you.... |
