i think people should be glad to simply have a job at the moment. In the construction industry in which i work many large companies that i deal with are laying people off left right and centre and us small 'sub-contractor' type companies are struggling to make ends meet, I know to a few that have had to put their employees on minimum wage just to try and get through the winter months - not good! |

not working for me = business failure. Everyone should realise that earning a wage isn't a birthright, and there is only a certain amount (not much) money to share around .

I work in the Private Sector so am personally unaffected by the strike, but the strike will affect me and the country long term. All this at a time when it is not needed, the recovery of the country is every individuals responsibility and any action should be put on the back burner until we have a more stable economy.

After years of paying in to a pension and having it raided by the goverment so it is now worth all, no one went out on strike when ours got robbed. Times are hard we cannot pay out more than we have coming in. |

From what I understand of my 'local government' pension - it is self funding by the members who pay into it - it is not directly paid for by the tax payer on retirement.

I'm self employed , and am unusually busy today seeing lots of patients who are using their "on strike" time to get their toothache sorted out.
