Constructive comment: what I'd really like is a "lidded something" for the centre console between the seats. |

I don't dislike the first alternative, but I agree that the LR one integrates better with the car. What I would like to see on my FL2 is things which would make it look a bit more G4. Something to put a winch on, plus extra underneath protection. A G4 style roof rack would also be nice. |

Actually the Freelander score only 1 star in the pedestrian rating, sorry about that, one star is very low, only no stars is lower. It gets good ratings for occupant safety. Euro NCAP scores here http://www.euroncap.com/tests/land_rover_freelander_2007/286.aspx All Endura FPS's also have Spot lamp mounting positions built in. |

But then the only 3 star car (worth a little look at) in our small 4X4 rating is a Toyota RAV 4 with a score of 21, but the driver/passenger safety is even less. A lot less green and a lot of yellow or orange

I honestly don't know what star rating the Freelander 2 would get as we have not tested it yet. It would have a difference on the actual score for sure but as to how much we will have to wait until it's tested and ask Euro NCAP to rate the results.

This Euro NCAP thing is really interesting (partly because my dealer yesterday told me the FL2 was "very good" for the pedestrian safety rating). But I've looked through quite a few of the listings (not all) & most cars seem to be rated zero, one or two - with as far as I've noticed only some of the Honda's getting a 3star rating.

I've gotta say i find it kinda ugly and not in keeping with the style of the vehicle, the styling of the front is very subtle on the FL2, yet already very functional ~ lets all be honest here, we buy the FL2 because we like the existing styling ~ if pedestrian protection was at the very top of your wish list when buying a car then you would buy a car with a spongy front bumper and restricted to 30mph ~ safe but totally impractical. I agree with Viking - hitting a Norwegian Moose is like hitting a brick wall at 60mph, so I dont think this plastic screw on thing would help at all! I cant really understand anybody fitting such a monstrosity on the front of a FL2 for looks and as for protection, well we do have comprehensive insurance dont we? |

What an awfull apendage. What does it weigh and what is its affect on the vehicle dynamics stuck out in frt of the axle line. Its only advantage could be if it diables the frt parking sensors. Make mine a large one. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit |

Definately not my cup of tea and would not dream of putting something like that on the front of the car....but I also wouldn't dream of putting one of those ugly C N's on the back either

Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciated, even though not really what we had hoped for. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a great new year. We have noted some of the requests for other products, such as the lidded something for between the seats as we used to make one of theose for Landrover for Freelander 1. I'm off to check to see if we still have the tooling for it.

That would be great, although I don't know what you had for the Freelander 1. It's for the square/rectangular hole and I have in mind a sliding lid, like the Range Rover, so an iPod can be kept safely in there, with the headphone lead sticking out and connected to auxiliary in connection point. Thanks |

By all means please come back and use the forum as a sounding board for any future developments. Don't be swayed by our views we are only a small percentage of the Freelander 2 owners out there, many who may like your design and product and it maybe what they are looking for. If your design team wants to ask thoughts of any pre-development products or needs pop back and ask the questions. Have a Merry Christmas too, and very merry new year.
