England 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Auto Biscay Blue

Hello everybody

Thought I'd join this forum after spending some years at the mercy of Land Rover dealers. I realised that there were many people out there who might be able to help in fixing simple problems that would otherwise cost an arm and a leg to put right. Looking forward to joining in when I can.

Had a 1.8 in 2000, a V6 ES in 2004, and have just taken on a 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS with 9000 on the clock. Past models have been great fun - but troublesome.

Hope the newer Free2 will be better behaved.

Entering a new world (of sorts!)

Hello to all on Freel2!

After many years in the wilderness of 2WD cars, the good lady and I decided to get a 4WD specifcally to help us through the winter road conditions in Scotland... the last 2 winters have been pretty severe (relatively speaking). We looked at some of the out-and-out 4WDs like the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Nissan Pathfinder and the Mitsubishi Shogun but they were all just a little bit too big and 'agricultural' for our mostly around town driving with occaisional forrays into rural Scotland.

So we ended up with a bit of a head-to-head dilemma between the new Hyundai Santa Fe and the FL2. I guess most of you will say "no contest" but on paper at least the Santa Fe ticked a lot of boxes - especially the 7-seat versatile config and the boot space (1000ltrs vs. 755 on the FL2). Anyway as I'm sure you all appreciate the drive feel and build quality of the FL2 is very hard to match and having had a few test drives of both, the FL2 was a clear winner for one main reason... we both had huge grins after test driving the FL2 whereas the Santa Fe felt purely functional, an almost joyless drive.

So that's our story and here we are... look forward to hearing from you all and letting you know how our FL2 story unfolds! Already benefitted from the tips on engaging the Front PDC (yes, it does seem intuitive - now!) and the key fob alternating. 2010 TD4 HSE Auto

Hi Everyone!!

Hi everyone,

Just found this forum and joined immediately! I collected my new (to me) Freelander 2 last Friday and am very pleased with it. This is my second Freelander, the first being a 2007 HSE i6 which had a problem of not wanting to drive past many filling stations without calling in! Sad to say that one was replaced by a Volvo V50 diesel which was a mistake to say the least! Anyway, I'm back with a 2010 my TD4 HSE in Biscay blue with the almond leather and it is superb. I look forward to visiting the forum regularly and hope I can add some value too. Very Happy

Reg 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

Previous Land Rovers:
2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6 in Stornoway Grey
1991 Discovery 200tdi 3 door in blue

Hello!

Hi All!

Bought my first Land Rover a few weeks ago- 57 plate Freelander 2, S model (yes I've seen the comments elsewhere!) and I love it! I've been reading through all kinds of threads on here since I signed on the dotted line and have found tonnes of useful stuff so thought I would join your ranks.

A few minor tweaks since I picked the car up, all due to reading threads on here:
- turned the annoying seatbelt beep off
- changed the unlocking system so that all doors are unlocked with just one click of the key fob.

Next job planned:
- Install Garmin sat nav in the dash.

Great forum- looking forward to being involved!
