Thanks Doc, but it wasn't the DPF itself, but the pressure sensor which failed. I don't do short trips in this car and most of the journeys of late have been 200 plus mile motorway trips. ie the car gets a lot of long runs at full operating temp, so the DPF regens properly. The problem I had was to do with a pressure sensor, which caused the engine to drop to 'reduced power mode'. Park Royal gave me a copy of the tech bulletin report, so this is something LR are aware of. Just wondered if anyone else out there had suffered. |

Nice LR Assist chap in a Discovery has just confirmed there is a problem with the DPF pressure sensor.

this is a known fault on some fl2 with dpf my td4 did this at approx the same millage in 2010 fault code 214 i think (aa) re set told to go to dealer asap for mod and software update all done in dec not had a problem since |

Engines are the same and the difference in noise is just one of those things. |
