DPF sensor failure on SD4

My 5000 mile SD4 developed this fault whilst I was in London. Dropped by Park Royal and they sorted out the error code, warning me that it might come back. It did an hour later on the M40. Car recovered with excellent service from LR Assist, who put me into a Dubai spec (white on black) SD4 HSE. Got my own car back 48 hrs later. Any one else had this happen on an SD4?

Thanks Doc, but it wasn't the DPF itself, but the pressure sensor which failed. I don't do short trips in this car and most of the journeys of late have been 200 plus mile motorway trips. ie the car gets a lot of long runs at full operating temp, so the DPF regens properly. The problem I had was to do with a pressure sensor, which caused the engine to drop to 'reduced power mode'. Park Royal gave me a copy of the tech bulletin report, so this is something LR are aware of. Just wondered if anyone else out there had suffered.

Sounds like what happened to mine back in July:

Of course the dealer told me that this was an unknown fault on SD4s and it took ages for them to get a replacement sensor - had to rob the production line they claimed! Freelander 2 SD4 HSE - Ipanema Sand - MD co-pilot - Springer Spaniel in boot - Swift Challenger on the back!

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Just experienced the 'reduced engine performance' and engine warning light on the way home from dinner at parents Sad Sad

Definite loss of power and slower response from gas pedal. Got home and rang up LR Assist who offered either AA in less than an hour or a LR Technician tomorrow morning - so I asked for the later.

I love our FL2 and really hope this isn't signs of things to come.

Sad Had a call from local dealer to say they replaced DPF sensor and recalibrated. Great!

However, the reduced engine performance warning has already come back - lucky I was on the way to the dealer at the time because I'd left a buggy in the replacement cars boot.

Our car is a SD4 GS, and the replacement car is a SD4 HSE. One thing I've noticed is that the HSE seems to be quieter.. As far as I know the engines are the same, so does this meant he HSE has extra sound proofing in the cabin? Or is it just one of those things...

Engines are the same and the difference in noise is just one of those things.
