B Pillar Seat Belt Wear

It has been 6 weeks since I filed my request for the worn B pillar trim to be rectified under warranty. During that time my local LR official service centre has (according to them) repeatedly asked for feedback on the progress of my claim following LR CH initial response of: "We've never heard of that."

This morning I felt that I had given both the dealer and LR Switzerland enough time to give me a report on whether they are honouring the claim or rejecting the claim. So I sent them a detailed blow by blow email account of the dates of my reminder visits to the garage etc., evidence that this is a design fault of the seat belt hanger, the SSM & LTB numbers (submitted with my original claim) and a testimony that I had collected a list of other FL2 owners from the UK to Australia that had had this work rectified under warranty.

Within 2hrs of submitting my email the dealer emailed me back saying that the parts are on order and hopefully will be here in time to be fitted to her Ladyship's FL2 when it goes in for its 2nd year service on the 3rd October in readiness for our drive to Blighty and Halewood. Let's hope so.

And yes, I did mention that I am visiting Halewood. Did that prompt them into action - one wonders.

Sometimes you have to fight for what you know is right.
It shouldn't be like this but it occasionally happens.

At the end of the day, a good result.

I concur with everyone's sentiments but now after a 6 week trial all I want is that a) LR CH send to the dealer both the driver's side and front passenger side trims and new seat belt hangers, and b) that they arrive and are installed before we depart for Blighty on the 11th October.

Then and only then can victory of common sense over the "never-heard-of-that-dogma" can be declared.
