How do you cope when a close friendship turns sour?

I had a very close friend for a number of years. She was a little eccentric, but a good friend not just to me, but my wife and daughter too. Our families went on holiday together on a few occasions and it was always a great success.

Then, about 7 or 8 months ago and completely out of the blue, she turned completely sour - literally overnight. She asked me (by email - my work email at that) to never to get in touch again - which I totally shocked by, but I respected her wishes. She tracked me down a couple of months later (while I was out for coffee with friends) to give me back my DVD's that she'd had on loan. I said that I was very sorry for anything that I might have done and said that she could re-contact us any time she liked.

Now, many months later, I discover that it's extremely likely that she had a fairly pivotal role (over only the last couple of weeks) in my company losing a useful and long standing contract.

I'm really feeling very upset and let down now. I have absolutely no wish to ever make contact again, but find it very difficult not to feel extremely hurt. How would you deal with it?

buy her a caravan , that should ruin her life.

or get Mrs pinks snr to run her over.

or get AndyC to speak to her, one minute of his moaning voice will make her want to end it all.

simply put send Mrs Pinks round to her house withAndyC in the caravan on tow.

ps have you been shagging her? if so you must have done it badly

When you say close, was she partnership close or a friend with benefits ( Censored buddy?) Something has obviously put her claws out and she obviously blames you for it and want to see you hurt.

with her having a role in a contract you lost, was she a work colleague? nice one banging the secretary Bow down

Do you have any mutual friends who could shed light, don't go asking them outright it will look like your snooping or digging dirt

If she continues you won't loose anything by confronting her, at night with a black mask and a menacing glare is not what i mean Laughing Or next time time she's out in the same pub giving her evil cat like hisses and looks ask her what her Censored problem is be..atch Exclamation get it out of her in a public slanging match, nowt better

If shes in a new relationship, possessive new boyfriend is my guess Whistle

PS We can't help unless you show us the photos and pictures you posted to readers wives Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Life's too short, move on, maybe even get the business back one day, why did you lose it? The company you lost must be pretty shallow if it's on her word?

I would also suggest she was pressured or promised the earth months ago.

This thread is hilarious, I just hope no one is looking over your shoulder at the replies you're getting. Obviously there's more to this than you've let on, but forget it and move on, your priorities are your family..

Thanks guys, you've really given me a good laugh! Laughing

To answer a few of your questions:

We really were just friends (honestly!). She has a pretty minor role working for a customer of mine, but she would have had sufficient influence over their decision to make us lose a contract that there was absolutely no sound reason that we would have otherwise lost.

I have absolutely no wish to make any contact or find out more, I just wanted a way for the spitefulness and betrayal of it all to stop hurting.

She's obviously no where near the kind and generous person that I mistook her for and laughing at it all has really helped!

Cheers Thumbs Up

There you go, you wanted friendship for her to be one of the lads to slap her back whilst cracking jokes and belly laughing at the weird bloke in the corner of the pub

She want roses, candles holding hands and your Censored slapping against her chin
