Thanks I will check them out. I'm getting quotes around the £400 mark from various sources... this is a real pain to go through. Am 42 with no accidents or convictions and 5 yrs no claims. 2012 DISCOVERY 4 GS AUTO ORKNEY GREY

If you have'nt got your car yet then 'LandRover Insurance' will be in touch, to get your business they are quite reasonable with mine working out at £240 something.

I picked the car up on Friday. Think I will phone LR Insurance today and find out. The online quote was £100 more than others, so I will see if that improves and post the result here later. 2012 DISCOVERY 4 GS AUTO ORKNEY GREY

Farmers Union used to be cheap, but with the rising thefts of Defenders they are not any more.
£800 5+years NCD - commercial use

They do have the advantage that as "farmers vehicles" they can hardly say you are not covered when off-road, but to be honest the service has always been excellent. We went to Morrocco, every one else had to pay for additional insurance, not the NFU guys - all included sir Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I did a confused.com search at my last renewal and after much debating I got a further £50 discount and I stayed with Churchill at £495 with 2 named drivers and £500 excess but with legal assistance included.

The thing to remember is I was only 26 at the time and with a mere 2 years NCB.

I fully intend to stick with Churchill. Not only could nobody beat their quote (I left Adrian Flux in a state of shock when I gave them Churchill's price!), but ever since they coughed up £8000 in a matter of days with no hassle or excuses for a focus I owned which was written off, I have no intention of moving.

No excuses about not paying up and UK call centres with excellent customer service. I will have their breakdown cover when the LR warranty and breakdown runs out.

Give them a try Thumbs Up

P.S, at the time of the aforementioned renewal, LR's best price was £1300 Rolling with laughter LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

How dya manage that? Bow down I've one of the best post codes in the midlands, more no claims and more experience Wink (ala I'm older Whistle ) and i'm still paying at least 100 quid more Evil or Very Mad

Put it this way my 330i e90 BMW with less no claims was the same price to insure my Freelander Shocked

Is there a big difference in insurance group for spec does anyone know?

I always check the full market (price comparisons, independents brokers etc) and I've not been able to get a quote below 600 for the past few yrs Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Try Nationwide (underwritten by LV) or LV direct, they have been pretty good for me on renewal, even though we had a prang earlier in the year. In fact, they were cheaper than anything on Confused which is the first time ever.
