The octagonal Jubilee Tower on Beacon Hill, overlooking the town of Darwen, was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and also to celebrate the victory of the local people for the right to access the moor, locally known as Darwen Tower.

Beacon Hill? Is that near Beacon Fell? I did search Google but didn't get much. I remember going to Beacon Fell when I was younger (and living in Blackpool) and I don't remember anywhere called Darwen or any monument like that. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame. |

Aren't we LR owners a artistic lot - but I don't see any FL2's in the shots (so there is something missing - which would make a perfect photo)

This one taken from Arisaig in the Western Highlands the other day. Might be a bit grainy as taken on my phone, but I like it!
