You recycle the already cooled air, it must be better. |

If you re-circulate, a fart could last forever.

Generally, I just leave it on auto and adjust the temperature dial. Unless I have something stinky in my car (pizza, fish and chips, girlfriend) and then I might turn it off and open the windows. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame. |

My dealer told me that it will only stay on "re-circulate" for a few minutes at a time before using fresh air - something to do with keeping driver's more alert after problems recirculating the same air for too long. Not sure if this is a new (safety?) amendment to the MY11. |

Depends, if you push the button it turns of after a while, but if you keep pushing it then it starts to blink. After that it stays fixed to re-circulate. |

The same principle is used on passenger flights; the aircon is largely left on "recirculation" (with a minimum amout of fresh air) as this requires a lot less power to maintain the correct conditions inside the cabin. It also means that you get perfect condition to get everyone else's flu, or experience their farts several times over!

I feel that is careless and irresponsible advice as no specific action has been recommended in the case of brussel sprouts. |
