A spooky problem....

I can move my electric driver seat forward or back, adjust the incline without incident quite regularly. Almost every time my wife drives the car, she adjusts the seat to suit and the fuse blows. It's a bit spooky, she rarely drives the car but has now blown the fuse 5 times. The fuse has never blown for me. I might add that she is one of those people who cannot wear a wind up wrist watch as it fails to keep time. There is still a lot that we don't know about.

Anyone else had this problem? Smile Mike

Is she moving in two directions at once, if you see what I mean, two motors running?

Alternatively, and don't take this the wrong way, does she need more power to move her? Shocked

If she is adjusting the seat to full up/down or full forward/back, maybe the current draw at the end of the rail is too much and up until she realize the seat isn't moving anymore the fuse blows...

Yes I thought of that as well but she hasn't got it all the way forward either. She doesn't operate both at once either. All good thoughts though, thanks.

I'm thinking there's a bare that shorts when moved into a certain position? Have a look under the seat and take off the panel where the seat belt is ? Good luck Thumbs Up

That does sound reasonable, however part of me hopes it remains a mysterious oddity Smile

It's choosing her because it gets stuck in her driving position until I change the fuse....I can take a hint Laughing

If it's in her position when the fuse blows, maybe it's not her fault but yours. Are you sure it doesn't blow when you want to change the position back?

Maybe she doesnt hold the knob firmly enough and just jiggles it?
