Not sure what Defender owners would say about that. They have been seen pulling artics in the snow without any fuss LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

200tdi was solid, and the td5 was even better and the tdci was just as good! You clearly had Friday cars! |

At the risk of this turning sour.... If you plan on towing buy auto for ease of use. Other than that IainM1970 buy manual. There have been a number of people on here who have reported no problems with the manual and they have done lots of towing. It could depend on the experience of the driver as to how the clutch will fare. Interesting comment you make about the SD4. LR would just need to make a stronger clutch and flywheel etc to deal with the extra power. Something which they have gone for with the Evoque. Skoda Yeti, as Jeremy Clarkson proved on Top Gear, it is the best car in the world. Did think about one before we bought the FL2. The high end ones are very nice inside and are definitely well put together. |

Good point Iain. Also, I have no doubt that the Yeti is good in snow but there is no compact 4x4, including the vastly improved BMW X3 that gives you peace of mind like the FL2 in winter. If you really have to venture out into the heavy snow and blizzards (all things equal on the tyre front i.e normal all weather tyres), there will always be a doubt in your mind with the rivals. The FL2 brings absolute confidence (when driven sensibly of course) in the snow that simply cannot be matched. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

If they did it with the 170 engine I would, though my dealer has been waiting for 11 months for one customers Scout to arrive! |
