Just out of interest the book says 1000 miles before towing! I collected mine just 4 days before going to the south of France so drove 250 miles a nighte to run in before towing. We enjoyed our month toiuring and the Freelander towed very well!

Well, I am almost there now....a few more miles and I will be towing for the first time with my new SD4. What a great car this is though - I still smile every time I drive away in it.

I did over 1000 miles before towing and went on a few long "running in" trips without the caravan beforehand. Yes it does tow very well. We did over 500 miles towing last weekend. The gearbox issues I am having are more visible when not towing though as I tend to use the command quite a lot when towing as I can then pre-select the correct gear when approaching roundabouts and junctions. When not towing I tend to want to just leave it in D. |
