Colour Choice

I have noticed on the Land Rover website that the colour "Rimini Red" seems to have disappeared from the build options?

The colour is fairly limited, personally I love the Firenze Red but spending anothe £6k to get it seems a little daft.

Various colours seem to have come and gone over the lasty couple of years, please could someone shed some light on how often new colours become available?? I am due to sign on the dotted line, maybe worth holding back a week or two to see if any summer offers come along, maybe with new colour schemes.

Paul

ps. my current car is black so that is not an option!!

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Shocked

If its the colour you want I would still ask the dealer as chances are they are still making it or have that colour on the line still.

I am quite shocked as it is a cracking colour (not being biased coz I have that colour... Whistle ) The colour pallette is quite limited (either really dark shades or white/silver). I think new colours wont be introduced until about July, usually 2 or 3 but wouldnt be surprised to see that new red come on board soon (would be too expensive to have it just as part of the le sport run!)

If you want something a little different take a look at Bali Blue. In the flesh it is very nice and a worthy upgrade from the red (not being baised coz I am having that colour... Whistle ) Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

I ordered Rimini Red back in December but the dealer was then told it had been discontinued and a different red shade would be introduced in March/APril. So I've ended up with Ipenema Sand Very Happy Brian

MY11 FL2 SD4 GS
Extras to same spec as XS apart from the Satnav, plus Xenons.
Ipenema Sand, Ebony.

I was given a nudge nudge wink wink in that direction too from my local dealer, hope it is released in time for
an order to be placed.

Freelander looks good in this, I know this has sport trim but you get the idea.

MY2011 Freelander Sport here in CH available in 2.2 SD4 190PS or 2.2 TD4 150PS Manual or Auto box. Priced from CHF52.500 (GBP£32,900 @ toady's FX rate) plus on the road costs. Colours - only Fuji White, Santorini Black or FIRENZE RED. Delivery Now.

This indicates that Firenze Red will be a standard colour in the FL2 range. Taztastic place that colour order now.

that photo looks too much like Rimini Red to me!!

I am biased but do like Rimini Red, cannot judge difference with the new red yet but any red is better than boring grey/silver or drug dealer black....
PS How do you tell the difference between the various blacks? Surely 'Black is Black'?? Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

The pic is from LR media site as firenze red, I agree though, many of the shots look more like a solid red, this shot is more natural, some of the others are a bit over done with filters.
Still like it though, top colour, wonder if we could call it chicken blood red, might attract some attention!!! Rolling Eyes

Just learnt that LR MY2012 (all models) will included the following new blacks:

1: Benghazi Beach Black (metallic)
2: Bega Brigade Black (flat)

This is in recognition of the substantial 20,000 RRS and 110 Defender (special equipment) order placed by the Liberation Council for their elite rapid response defence units following this week's very poor field trials of existing Toyota and Nissan pick-ups. The former were unable to stop at their designated targets due to what Commander's referred to as "driver floor well engagements", and the latter were unable to execute their mission due to "asset fatigue". Both also suffered from unacceptable "blue on blue" fire due to poor colour coordination and ease of recognition.

LR and the MOD refuse to speculate on press comments that the Liberation Council appointed in the last 48hrs John Galliano to develop the new blacks on account of his recent masterly theological dissertation, and, that manufacture is to be undertaken at a new underground (ex submarine) facility on Malta in recognition of their judicious 5yr storage contract of Gaddafi airforce assets.

It is however confirmed that funding for this contract does not involve any UK tax payer subsidies with funds already in place courtesy of a generous donation by a chap called Saif (currenty temporarily resident of Tripoli) via his father's UK Libya Investment Fund held by UKGov's fund manager Osbourne.

Note: source of leaked story - Fishing Correspondent's SMS log of Egyptian Camping & Caravan Weekly.
