Is yours a newish electronic charger? If so beg borrow or steal an old type charger to kick your battery back to life. electronic chargers have big problems with totally flat batteries. or try putting a load across terminals while you switch the charger on At work

Fleabay have some good one in yellow and some in red and a 3 year warranty. Bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

As CG said, put a load across the battery to help kickstart it. Try a sidelamp bulb of a few amps, it will do no harm leaving it on for a while. |

Don't discount the charger either as working.

when you say a side lamp bulb, do you mean putting this on the battery whilst charging, or just before? as just before removing it i tested the caravan lights and they worked ok, for got to look at the volt meter though, thought the week before it was about 12.3v from memory

You can put a small load across the battery with the charging leads before you switch on and leave it there for a while, this will help kickstart the charger into thinking it has a load present.
