help my wife filled my fl2 td4 with petrol yesterday and drove home 4 miles without noticing what she had done later i went out to fl2 and it would not start this is when i noticed the petrol smell from fuel tank fl2 was uplifted yesterday and fuel system repaired picked fl2 up tonight but the power steering not working very very hard to drive after around 10 miles started to work again and has been fine ever since garage that fixed fuel problem stated that it may have went into some sort of safety mode can anyone shed any light on this cheers colian |

The PAS system is independant of the engine in terms of fluids but they might have had to drain it to get to fuel system pipes to drain them. So possibly not bled properly??

I'd be surprised if you've damaged the car - I drove my early diesel Freelander for about 20miles on mainly petrol, ending up on top of an Alpine pass where it refused to restart. Never had any problem later.

just an update now 4 days past engine fine and power steering fine also the power steering was not touched by rac when sorting fuel problem so it is still a mystery why it stopped working for a short while |
