May or may not be the answer but all LCD screens suffer from the cold, first thing on a cold morning the screens definition would be terrible. Only when the cabin warmed would it get better. |

It's one of those things you never notice but I am sure the display was much brighter with the lights off, them dimmed when they came on the same as the other displays so they don't dazzle you, my sat nav screen stays the same, dim. (at least its ok at night). |

I got my car out of the garage so it wasn't that cold, and even at the end of a 40min journey it was still dim, and as i said, lights on or off, it makes no difference to the display. |

As Shilen and Eyorkshire say, it is the nature of the screen - they don`t work well when cold.

i have turned up the brightness to maximum, and its still very dim and difficult to see in daylight. I am sure its linked to the lights, as are the dash and radio display, and should dim when the lights come on, mine doesn't change, it stays dim all of the time. |

Thanks Sam but I have tried both, no luck. Its booked in for the 10 Dec so in true LR2 electrical problems it may resolve itself by then. we will wait and see. |

The dim screen is quite normal in cold weather. The colder it gets the longer it takes to reach normal. You just have to wait until the car is warmed up before you get a "normal" screen |

I would like to predict that on the morning of the 10th December your dim sat nav screen will be as bright as the morning sun. |
