Wales.... Is it worth going

Laughing

Thinking if towing the caravan down next summer for a week or two

Any family sites that are great for beach, sight seeing (are there sites to see for 5 & 2 year olds)?

I even recall you having a welsh riviera or is that a joke

Or should I keep driving and go to Cornwall? Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

Hi Pinkie - had quite a few holidays with the kids in Wales (mine not someone elses) and can highly recommend it - providing you have a strong constitution and a good sense of humour.

It can be wet, any time, it can be cold, most of the time, but I have found the majority of peope to be friendly and when the sun does shine it is great.

Wales is a big place so plan caerphilly! Cardigan bay is nice - lots to see - and plenty for kids to do - try Mwnt and aberarron. Snowdonia is impressive especially if you can get up the mountains. All in all It s a bit like Norfolk but with more of an accent............... like going abroad but without the flight............ Oh and its got mountains....

I love it and thats why we keep going back. There's always a way forward!

I had a nice holiday in http://www.aberdyfi.com/ a couple of years back. beautiful area. mountains(ish) beaches cycle tracks , little trains for the kids.

Road access isn't great so probably take you a week to tow a van there, I know that as | igot stuck behind a van on the drive there

this road is great Thumbs Up , nearly as nice as Yorkshire Confused

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

Hi there,

if you want beaches and sea then spending some time on the Gower before moving west would be worth while

have been to Hillend quite a few times before (though not for a few years) but comments look as good as ever,

Does it rain........yes
Is it cold.........yes, apart from around june Smile

Its a lovely place really, which part of wales you thinking of? North or South

Down south, Gower is the place for nice caravan holiday, loads of places to see, Tenby is very popular, fishguard, Pendine sands (you can drive on the beach, but cant remember if that got stopped)

If you feel the urge for big town shopping, there's swansea and cardiff. Loads of castles around,

For the children, Folly farm is worth going to and Manor House Wildlife park.
