Australia 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Fuji White

My Freelander 2007 just started doing this sound in left front wheel area. I checked if there are any unwanted objects, I also removed the wheel and checked it but found nothing. Then I put the gear into Neutral and started rotating it by hand, but again, no sound at all. When I mounted the wheel back on and when I drive, I can still hear it..
Did anyone found a solution to this issue, or do you just drive with this annoying sound?

Is the 'ticking' speed related?
Maybe worth checking the air intake as that has caused problems in the past if it's loose, the sound from that manifests itself front left.

Hi taztastic, thanks for your reply.
Yes, this sound is speed related, but the sound level/volume is consistent, no matter how fast am I going.
So, once I remove the grill, should I be looking for something in particular?

So I tried to tighten this bolt, which actually was a bit loose, but with no change, the sound is still there.
It sounds like something is stuck in the tyre thread, but I checked couple of times and found nothing.
It is like something plastic hitting other plastic material. And it takes approx. 1 wheel spin to hear it - so when I increase the speed, this sound appears more frequently.

Hi, I made a video of that sound what my car makes:

I would be happy for any suggestions on what that could be as I really don't know what to look for. When I removed the wheel and rotated brake disc by hand, there was no sound, but at the same time, I couldn't find anything in the tyre what could cause this sound. Cheers!

The noise sounds mechanical and only happens when being driven? I would check anti-roll bar bushes and the other bushes to see a foreign body has lodged itself in there or if one of them is worn?

Hi RichP, the noise is more like plastic-like. However, today I swapped front wheels and the noise is now coming from the other side, which means that this wheel/tyre is causing it. But I have no idea what it could be as I couldn't find anything in the tyre thread. Could that be some object inside of the tyre? is that possible?

I often get stones stuck in the tread of my quarry pickup which usually come out at speed but sometimes need removing. Can also get stones jam between brake disc and caliper or backplate which makes a real evil screeching. These can sometimes be shifted by shunting backwards and forwards a few times but have needed to strip it to get them out.
