We had a 60 reg FL2 GS and the same happened to it just after Xmas. The car had been idle for a couple of weeks. My son jumped in and started up as normal and nothing on the heating/blower system worked no matter what setting. Lights came on but no blower or anything. We checked the fuse under the bonnet which was OK, switched the engine on and off etc and he drove off. I called the dealers the next morning and they suggested disconnecting the battery and joining the terminals for a few seconds to do a hard reset. We didn't do this as over the next couple of days the functions came back and when I saw him next weekend everything was working OK. Which was fine as he traded it in the next day.

Might be low on refrigerant. If it is, a pressure switch prevents the clutch engaging and the fan coming on. Might just need a top up or recharge., Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Cheers Steve, i'm currently looking into getting it regassed. I'll get it leak checked aswell that way if there is a leak at least I can go back to hunters with evidence. |

The Freelander air con condenser radiator is known to have leaks from the plastic filter plug located on the lower right hand side of the radiator on the bottom of the round column. I had to have mine replaced and re gassed. If you look around the seams of the plug you will normally notice florescent green refrigerant if its leaking.

Ah nice one. Thanks for that. I'll go have a look tomorrow to see if it's leaking. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's that then. Just out of interest... Do you still get the click from the compressor when you turn the ac on? Landrover say you can't hear the new ones but I'm not inclined to believe them lol 😁 |
